Blessing Asia-A Life-Changing Visit to New Faith Family Children’s Home- Phillipines

Visiting New Faith Family Children’s Home in the Philippines was an experience that will forever be etched in our hearts. This extraordinary home is a safe haven for 44 children, aged 6 to 18, who have faced unimaginable challenges yet radiate love, kindness, and faith. It’s more than just a shelter; it’s a family that nurtures and supports these kids not just through high school but also into college, ensuring they have the opportunity to build a brighter future.

We arrived with 7 large bags filled with clothes, toys, and cash for 5 bicycles, all thanks to the incredible generosity of so many people. These gifts were a part of their upcoming Christmas celebration, and the excitement in the air was contagious. The kids were trying to sneak peeks at the presents, their faces lighting up with curiosity and anticipation. It was heartwarming to see how much joy these simple contributions brought.

The time we spent there was filled with beautiful connections and unforgettable moments. One of the most touching was watching my mom bond with a little boy who fell in love with her and her watch. He was fascinated by it, holding onto her wrist and admiring it like it was the most magical thing he had ever seen. His laughter was infectious as he insisted my mom hold him up on the monkey bars, even though he was heavier than he looked! Their bond was a special reminder of the power of love and attention to make someone feel seen and valued.

Andy also had a profound impact, especially with the older kids. He took time to sit down and talk with them, sharing stories, listening to their dreams, and encouraging their faith. It was incredible to see how easily he connected with them, offering a glimpse of mentorship and hope. Later, he joined the kids in a game of volleyball, laughing and cheering alongside them. His presence reminded us all how much joy can be found in the simple act of being present.

One of the highlights of our visit was getting to experience the amazing musical talents of the boys at the home. We were treated to beautiful performances of singing, guitar, and piano. It was breathtaking to watch them pour their hearts into their music, their passion and skill shining through in every note. Music is clearly a source of joy and expression for them, and their talent left us in awe.

The children at New Faith Family Home amazed us with their kindness and strong sense of community. They all got along so well, cleaning up after themselves, encouraging one another, and showing what it means to be a true family. Their stories, however, were heart-wrenching. Many of them have never experienced love in the way every child deserves. Some have even faced the pain of being adopted and then returned. Yet, despite their difficult pasts, they are filled with faith and resilience that left us deeply inspired.

Their Christian school, church, and Bible studies are a big part of their lives, and the love for Jesus was evident everywhere—from their clothes to the artwork on their walls. These kids are surrounded by a foundation of faith that lifts them up and gives them hope for the future.

As we wrapped up our visit, we knew this was not the end of our journey with New Faith Family Children’s Home. We’ve already made plans to return and are committed to sponsoring their needs moving forward. Their stories have moved us, their faith has inspired us, and their love has forever changed us.
